Istrochem, o.z. belongs to the significant companies
of the Slovak chemical industry. The headquarters
and production plants are located in middle of Bratislava,
capital of Slovakia, on the area of 2 km2.
Since 2002 the company is a part of AGROFERT Group which
globally operates in chemical industry, agriculture and food industry.
Since January 1 2006 Istrochem is a branch plant of Duslo, a.s.
Product portfolio of the company includes:

Polypropylene fibres

Industrial explosives
Colour and special masterbatches
90 % of the production is exported to European and overseas markets.
Istrochem, o.z. introduced the System of Integrated Management (SIM) which consists of a system of quality management certified according to ISO 9001:2000, system of environmental management certified according to ISO 14001:2004 and a system of work safety and health protection certified according to OHSAS 18001:1999. Since 2005 Istrochem has been a holder of ISO/TS 16949 certificate in automotive industry for quality system in relation to development and production of rubber chemicals and polypropylene fibers.

History
Istrochem belongs to the oldest companies of chemical industry. The company was founded in 1873 by Alfred Nobel, a Swedish inventor of dynamite, as a part of his wider industrial activities in Europe. The initial production program included production of explosives for industrial and military purposes. Later the chemical production was gradually expanded and diversified according to the needs of chemical industry and relating industrial sectors.
In the course of its over 130 year‘s history Istrochem earned a significant position in Slovakia and abroad.
